That is terrible that I actually know these without looking because I am constantly disconnecting my battery while workin on my two 850's.
Thankfully my S80 doesnt have a radio code.
I just write mine on top of the radio next to the serial number for the next owner.

And while its a great idea its a little "nanny site" for me.
After all this is one of the greatest DIY resource I can think of.
How about creative alternatives?
Write it on the oil change tags you get at the local auto parts store when you buy your oil and filter?
Or etch it into the faceplate since car stereo thieves cant read?
