Sorry I haven't been keeping track of any threads lately. That hole is normal. 1993 and some 1994 models had a crankcase ventilation hose there. The hole is just there as a remanant, and it is sealed off from the inside.

It does look like your oil cap seal to me.

I think I fixed it last weekend, but haven't had a chance to pop the hood when it was light out until a heater core hose burst almost completely through on me in the middle of the highway 2 days ago, leaving me driving a friends car until this afternoon.

Fix one leak, it leaks something else. Just how it does things I guess...

Justin: What do you mean it is sealed off from the inside? Mine clearly goes through since after I took this picture and drove it, it filled back up with oil. That is why I am sure this is where the oil is coming from. Can I seal this off with RTV?

There is (supposed) to be a gasket sealant on the inside of the cover for the port on cars that it's not used on. I'd say the RTV is worth a shot.

The sealant might work, but I'd personally be tempted to make a plug out of cork and secure it as a plug with the two screw holes at either side (looks perfect for a strip of Mecano or a couple of large washers!) and then see if there's still oil everywhere.

That'll confirm it's definitely the leak site and also you can RTV the cork (or metal or whatever you use for a plug) in permanently afterwards. Best of luck!

I just happen to have a huge box of wine corks I'm going to give the court trick a try. I also dried up all the oils and now I can really tell where its coming from. Thanks again for all the help

Looks like my "fix" failed on mine - it's leaking oil down on the exhaust again. Bah.

JD, I applied the silicone and let it set for an hour before driving like the instructions said. I might remove it and try again and let it set longer.

How are you cleaning that before applying silicone? I'd think it would be really difficult to get it oil free enough for silicone to work, no?
