How to re-assmble cellolar-device

Everything on the Volvo S80. Sometimes called an "executive car", the S80 was Volvo's top-of-the-line passenger car. P2 platform.

How to re-assmble cellolar-device

Post by mickeyk »

Hello,

I hope this is the right place for my question.
I'd like to move the fixed cellolar handle device, a little bit further upward, so there will be more room for the passenger's knees [legs]..
I checked- this will not intefere with opening the glove compartment.
I took-off all the glove box screws, but could not find how to deal with this handle..
Can anyone please advise me how to re-assemble it?

Thank you

I didn't know that was a Volvo accessory.

Looks like an aftermarket add-on.

Never saw one of those

I agree with you Fazool. Did you buy the car with it? I don't even think Volvo ever offered a cell phone holder. It looks like the aftermarket one that I have for my car. The one I have has a clip that you can slide onto your vents. Stupid question, but have you tried just yanking it out of there, or will it even move?

You are right, both of you.
This is an after-market thing, which had already been installed when I bought my car.

However, I did some thinking [and I am not sure], but I want to remove it or at-least move it downward instead of upward, since I am afraid it might be in the way of the passenger's air-bag, which could be a dangerous thing if something may unfortunately happens..

So, how do I eject all the audio-unit or the air-condition control unit?
I unscrewed all the glove-box screws but did not understand how to proceed further on..
