new car on the slow side ?! tips to wake it up
so my 850 blew and i needed to get a new car so i found a gorgeous 99 v70r red and in great shape ! it has the 18t turbo and boasts a decent 260hp but im not so sure its all its cracked up to be or its not running wuite right .. my brother has a 98 saffron v70r and it deff pulss harder at a boasted 230hp im confused.. it feels to be running ok but also feels like there might be some flat spots in rpm range .. i also notice bad gas mileage? load on the engine? ac compressor/ or such ? maybe a tune up is in order? any help much appreciated !

Do a tune-up and vacuum lines. Then see how it behaves.

Whio knows
You need to do a full stage 0 and you have 240 HP NOT 260 (if stock)

He said it has a 18T so it's not stock. I'm with JBlack, get a stage 0 and go from there. If you want to try a quick check, pull the plugs and see what they are gapped at and what type they are. Also, does the car have a tune? I know very little about preformance mods but I don't think putting a larger turbo in would do much good with a tune.

I believe the 1999 R does have the 18T, and 247 hp. Probably slower to spool than the 16T.
2000 got the 19T, dual exhaust tips, and 261 hp.
You can also try half a turn shorter on the wastegate actuator rod. This will boost sooner, but DO NOT do more than 1/2 turn at the time on an ME7 [ECU] setup.

It's wrong. Look it up elsewhere. 236 for 98 247 for 99. 261 for 2000.

If you're in the USA you have a 240 HP (not 247) 1999
I know that sheet (which has so many mistakes, it's not funny), says 247 P, they don't, they have 240 only slightly better than a 98
If you're in a country where a car is registered by the date/month not the model year, you could have an early 2000 which has been registered as a 99 over there
Dual exhausts it's a 2000
Single exhaust it's a 99 (unless converted)
Satellite wheels-a 2000
Solar wheels it's a 99
If it's BRIGHT red, it's a 99, that is the only year that V70Rs came in bright red
If it's DARKER metallic Venetian red, it's a (rare) 2000, they made about 20-25 in that color.
Oh and those WIKI specs are for EUROPEAN cars, US cars (Rs) do not make that much HP
...and finally what transmission do you have?
1998 and 1999s are 4 speeds
2000 is the first year for the 5 speed (and a big difference off the line with a low 1st gear)
