1998 S70: Broken Kickdown Boot? New Throttle Cable?

I may have just snapped my kickdown boot in two screwing around with the turbo and exhaust manifold. Unfortunately I have ran through a few posts and right now its looking like an entirely new cable, is this true? Is the boot busted, it likes like it may seal back up with some sealant or superglue or similar. Has anyone had this happen recently? Here is a shot of the boot becoming disconnected from the firewall.

Yeah I did that. As you broke the ring that snaps into the firewall, you're in for a new throttle cable.

It's all good though - new cables feel great and made my car much more responsive.

Will the new cable include the new kickdown boot? I cannot seem to find a new cable anywhere, any suggestions?

Where is anywhere?
You need to order one from your Volvo dealer
No aftermarket suppliers carry them (IIRC)
At the same time you ask about the boot and if not, order one of those too

Not sure if it comes with the boot or not, though - I couldn't really see a way to separate the two parts. I pulled the whole thing out of an 850 to replace it. I don't see a part number in VADIS for the kickdown switch.

I'd just call them and ask about it honestly.

I am not going to spend 250% mark up for OEM products on a car with over 325k miles that I don't expect to be running in another year. Thanks guys.

I ordered mine from FCPGroton. Came with everything to snap into the firewall - didn't reuse anything off the old one. One tip - get all the connections done on the inside/pedal (before) snapping it into the firewall. My old one broke off at the same spot because I was was trying to remove it after some issues with hooking it back onto gas pedal.......old one needed replacing anyways.

Looks like I'll be buying Volvo anyways JRL, FCP has it for about $43+ shipping but I'll be lucky enough to grab one at DW Volvo for about $51 at the shop. Thanks for the tip DAK, I will follow your steps to installing. I think I will install the turbo first then replace the cable as to not risk breaking the new one.

Any tips on how to disconnect the old throttle cable at the engine side of the firewall? Mine is broken and I need to replace. Robert DIY ended up cutting the foam on the inside of the driver footwell to bend the plastic tabs while someone on the outside pulled. Is this the only way you guys have figured out how to do this?
