I just purchased a 1999 v70. Its a great car. 163k miles on it, but in great shape. Has a new (2 week old) radiator and heater core, plus many other things have been repaired on it through its life. But there seems to be one issue that seems to have survived all the repairs and investigations:
The rear window wiper, does not work, and when one unlocks all the doors, the rear hatch does not unlock, it needs to be done manually with the key, and I am pretty sure the rear defroster doesn't work either. So its obvious that there is an electrical glitch somewhere going to the rear area of the vehicle. I don't mind this, as I can deal if it is not repairable, but it sure would be nice if I could get these things to a state of functionality, for convenience's sake. Is there a wiring panel somewhere in the rear of the car? The previous owner said nothing to me about it being a fuse, he did mention that fuse #6 sometimes blows (the fuse that controls the door locks), and that I would have to change it if I wanted all the locks to lock and unlock simultaneously, but he said that he was never able to figure out why the rear hatch area had problems. Any suggestions are welcome, and thanks again.
