96 960 code po410

I have a 96 960 with the trouble code po410. I had it checked and was told it was the secondary air system malfunction. They replaced the air pump and the check valve. I drove the car for approx. 50 miles and the same code came back. Need help on this repair. If I can repair this myself I rather do it that way then taking it to the shop. THANKS

Who did the work? Those air pumps are expensive.

Sounds like they are throwing parts at it.

I had that problem for a while. You can hear the air pump come on after a cold start. Check the vacuum lines real good. Clean the flame trap out, it's right under the EGR. Mine had a bad vacuum solenoid at the left finder. The are 3 parts that fail, most people try lubing the valves before replacing them.

Thank You, I will check the vacuum lines then I will lube the valve before I go back to a repair shop. I will let you know the results.
