So after putting things back, (will post pix soon) my battery has somehow drained. ?!! :| ...

but before i fire it back up, i want to clean the oil pan

Can i drop the pan or do i need to remove something major?
can i flush out as the drain plug is open with solvents? ie., engine flush, carb cleaner, gasoline?

might sound crazy but i would like to know if anyone has done it ...

next im going to remove the engine oil cooler and clean it all up nicely, service it, since i have seen alot of gunk build up around the hoses and what not..

btw, im looking for some nice 18'' wheels , Pegasus, prefer silver/gunmetal finish , trying to stay away from chrome lol

ciao

@ ACk: Hello, I have the same year and model s80. I think you are doing a great job. I would like to do the same job to mine. I've gone through so much parts replaced and now it's hard to let my car go. I'm so involved in changing parts. Keep posting pictures please! I'll try to buy the parts you are replacing as soon as I can and start working on my T6.

hi guys, here are some pix, with the intake manifold steam washed and cleaned, fuel rail steam washed, injectors were cleaned and assembled!
the main electrical wires were covered with new wire looms, i zip tied them then wrapped them with electrical tape, and heated it a bit with a lighter! FYI, buy a good brand electrical tape, the cheap dollar store ones are not sticky enough, they will fal off. spend an extra $2 and get the good stuff, it will make a difference. I also replaced all the vacuum hoses, from the intake pipe to various controlls, ( boost solenoid, bypass valve, etc. etc. ) i also used new spring clamps/hose clamps.
Repalced the dip stick O-ring with a new one, even though the old one, looked exaclty the same, no damage and green  , however i did it for a piece of mind.

btw, there is a pic i attached, of how i installed the hidden pcv oil trap bolt,

1. i used a titanium drill bit and drilled a few holes on the side of the aluminum bracket, and after had the holes in, i used another drill bit which shaves/scowers metal, but you have to be careful it will go all over the place if you dont hold the drill steady and with strength. This is a quick fix , because i was running out of time.

Hello there. To get the hidden pcv oil trap bolt, I had to pull out the power steering pump, alternator and AC compressor. Then I was able to remove the block the holds all 3 of them. It's time consuming so just be patience. To remove that block there are like 6 or 8 bolts ... hmmm.. I've been working in my car all day, so my mind is about to explode!!
I haven't ordered the pcv oil trap. I'm about to do it. I need to find a place where they can steam wash the intake manifold as well as the fuel line. I found lots of dirt on the block. What kind of chemicals did you use Ack??? I'm scrubbing it with little brushes together with throttle body cleaner. Did you find a gasket for the throttle body? How did you clean the injectors?? I would appreciate any comments answering these questions. The sooner the better!! :D
Thanks!!
Stay dirty! :D :D :D

Hey there, as far as the steam wash , i took the parts to my local DIY car wash, most of the self service car washes have very hot water on their " high pressure rinse" option, i pre soaked it with engine degreaser, i used a orinary brush to losen deposits, and i started to wash the manifold with the high pressure hose. remember it was the bare manifold, nothing connected to it. the pressure and heat from the water removed everything!!!!! oh by the way, you WILL get wet, so wear something, im in LA so it was a warm afternoon.
the gasket i purchased from an online parts place ... autopartswherehouse.com.

injectors, i used injector cleaner on both ends, i had the injectors connected to a 12V battery as i seen from videos on Youtube. it worked preety well. , now the block it self , i had the head(intake side ) and all block oppenings, from the pcv removal, covered and then gently washed it with water as i scrubbed away with household degreaser (dish cleaning stuff) and i used carb cleaner on the hard to reach/clean areas, then i dried it with towels and hair dryer! . do it during the day and let every part dry well! .. hope this helps! ciao for now.

Okay, the hose thats coming out of the intake manifold is T lined with the purge valve, skrewed to the radiator shoud!!! if ur standing in front of the car with hood open, its to the right, right up top, its a little device, with vacuum lines, one is a hard line that comes from the gas tank, and 2 vacuum hoses and a electric tail. The white "things" are called One way check valves, which allow flow only in the direction it has the arrows ppointed, in this case, it comes out of the manifold, so it goes away from the manifold, the end of that hose where its laying on the braket in this picture, goes to the frsh air intake nipple, underneath you will see a big nipple, a small one and a 3rd one which is the same size as the one you got laying there, i posted pictures of my vacuum routing, and also, there is a good explanation someone wrote, under this label " Help with engine install" i think .. let me see if i can find it.
