So I figured out how to get that lil sucker in place! I did drop it in hot water, but I don't think that helped any. What I did was place the end of the hose into the transmission hole, then tightened the 12mm bolt that's up by the starter. Then I slowly bolted in the 10mm bolt at the trans. Slow and steady did the trick.

Now, the oil cooler hoses are a completely different story! I probably worked an hour to get one bolt in place - and still failed - so far. Everything is so slippery, I can't get a good grip on anything. :(

Air conditioning o rings match and fit better than the ones that FCP sells. They are a bit thinner and fit in on the transmission cooling lines and oil cooling lines better. Additionally, use a little squirt of silicone to get the line into the radiator but work fast since the silicone dries rapidly.

It makes me feel better to know I'm not the only one who gets stuck for hours trying to start a bolt or get a fitting started. I know what you mean about your brain shutting down. Sometimes it helps to get away from the project for a bit. I'll be in Glen Ellyn next week, hopefully you"ll have it by then, otherwise I can stop by and watch your swear at it.
