Arrrrgh Electronic seats

Post by paulfr »

Okay . I just bought another one. 1994 850 w/ 250,000 miles. ( youngster) when I heard the engine purring into my driveway I knew we were destined to be lovers/haters in an ill fated affair. Sh*t is love these the machines
Well after some body work, brake work, engine work and an Inspection Sicker from the Facista state I went to visit a friend at the hospital.
I was early for visiting hours. I dunno They set the hours. So I chose to catch some ZZZZZZ-s in my front (electronocally controlled seat). SHITE!
The alarm system went off. I had to prove ownership twice before pulling the Central Locking fuse. Don't care bout that

BUT

When I tried to return the seat to driving position - forget it - the motor grinds but no movement

So does anyone know a quick fix to get the seat upright? I'm now driving round w/ cushions between me and the seat. Is there anything short of tearing the covers off to get the seat upright?

Thank you for any help yo can provide

paul
