Are any 99 S70 parts interchangeable with 98 V70 T5 turbo?

Post by volvosurfin »

I have a 98 V70 T5 turbo wagon and have been looking for parts car here Hawaii. Very, very scarce here, have never even found one in a junkyard, not one. There is a 1999 Volvo S70 sedan on craigslist for near nothing, just trying to get rid of it. I really need rear bumper brackets, maybe bumper, and new hood. I could also use replacement passenger side door lock/actuator, other random door parts, and maybe new electric window switches.

Anybody know if parts may be interchangeable with my 98 V70 T5 turbo wagon?

Thanks as always.

All of that should work.

Anything under the hood, however, is COMPLETELY different.

Thanks for the info guys, just talked to the seller and he's got everything above minus hood, plus he's got the front right quarter panel and door lights, interior stuff to boot. Gonna get it all for $120 and he's gonna pull everything for me, plus I wont have to tow the car and have a scrapped S70 lawn ornament.

Any recommendations where to find a hood that could I could have shipped out here? Would rather not pay the 3-400 bucks for a new one, but beggars can't be choosers I suppose.

Gonna paint the whole car so any used non-damaged hood would do.

So stoked,

Aloha!

How much would it cost to ship a hood to you from the States?
I am in NC and may have one soon.

Thanks Obayha!

Just checked with UPS and they quoted over $1000 dollars! Said it had to go freight cause the (height + width)x2 + the length could be no more than 165in. Kinda strange I think.

I'm checking around right now for other options. I think the hood weights about 73lb and is a bit under 60x60x12 boxed? I'm thinkin' those may be able to be smaller, particularly the 12in if boxed tight? Do you know if I'm right there or what the smallest boxed dimensions might be?

Anyone else have ideas about shipping a hood? Looking online most retailers will ship for 100-250 bucks out here.

Ideas????

Thanks for the offer Obayha, I hope the shipping works out. If you are gonna part out the car, there may be bunch of parts I could take off your hands.

Aloha
