Volvo Repair Database Old to New CVVT Solenoid wiring ?

Post by Guiness06 »

Have diagnosed that the CVVT Solenoid is faulty so ordered a new one however this came (from US to France) without the connector so need to make new connector in fact plan to solder directly onto pins the connect o existing harness wires.

Current connections are (as in photo) green/orange wire is pin 1, yellow brown is pin 2 but problem is that on the new solenoid (see photo) I can find no markings so need to know which relates to the wiring harness (green/orange wire).

Yeah, all the new ones need re wiring.
If you can wait until tomorrow morning ater 10:00 AM (EST) PM me, my mechanic will be here.
He JUST did this (last week) with one of my cars, it didn't seem to take him very long at all but I wasn't watching

You were supposd to PM me if you needed help, remember?
(So I didn't ask him)
I'll be talking with him after lunchtime today, I'll try to remember to ask him then

EDIT:
Where /who did you get this from?
I remembered the connector is supposed to be included with everything, it was when I bought mine last week.
It may be easier if I get the connector and send it to you (if they can be bought separately) as it's very small

For this reason I found it easier to just grab a used part from a salvage yard. Cheaper too.

My old connector is green and red on one wire and brown and yellow on the other wire the green and red wire has voltage the brown does not. Can you help me with which one goes to Pin one on the new connector?
