FCP Groton let me down this time

Post by Luciano »

I got a heater core from them back in the winter of 2010-2011, Mr. Rivera contacted me three weeks later to say they had sent me the wrong part. That was after installing the new one. I was just to busy at that time to deal with it and it didn't seem to be leaking immediately. It did start to leak heavily towards the end of last winter. I contacted FCP today to see if they would send me another one and they said that since I had not purchased warranty I was SOL. Good company but just like others out there, once they become big they don't care about the little guys.

Was the core leaking or the seals? That's a long time to think they'll send you another one.

I'm not sure that I understand the basis for your complaint...

You got a part, you installed it. It fits? It works?

Three weeks later, you were advised that there was a problem.
( What did they say the problem was? Because obviously, it fit.
Some clarification would help your case here.
)

Now, after a year, you finally get around to dealing with it
and by your thinking, They're at fault now? It's been a YEAR!
The ball was in YOUR court - What were you expecting?

What if they hadn't called and admitted they made a mistake, I think its some what admirable that they called you to tell you they screwed up.

you should of just had them send you the proper fit when you found out they sent the wrong part and kept it as a back up.

they took like 2 weeks to send me an ignition coil and everyday they said it was shipping and never did. I got so fed up and called complaining and they got me my part and gave me a full credit for the price of the part. this was a few months ago.
They are still a small company and great to deal with.

THEY called, YOU decide to wait a year.
YOUR problem, not theirs. THEY did the right thing, YOU did the wrong thing by doing nothing!
You need to apologize to them and for this thread
