6 disc CD Changer for an S40

My 6 disc CD changer in my 2005 S40 is broken its says deck error. All of my CDs are stuck in there. I wanted to replace only the CD changer. Where can I get only the CD Changer and have someone install it for me. I am looking for the cheapest way to fix this problem

I also had a 2005 S40 with the 6-disc changer. It was 6 years ago so I'm a little fuzzy but as I recall, the 6-disc is integrated right in the center console.

I read a few posts just this week about changing the stereo - it seems like a pretty simple thing. The controls are all intergrated with the climate control so I think you have to pull the console cover off, then the CD changer is a modular unit you can pull out and replace.

You will, however, need a direct replacement unit and will most likely need to have your dealer re-establish the SW communications so the devices talk over their MELbus network (and so it knows its yours and not a stolen unit).

Thanks for your help I just bought a used volvo CD player matching my cars description. It cost me half the price of a new one at the dealership. I am going to have someone install it tomorrow.
