EGR pipe exhaust manifold

Post by zimmem2 »

I have a 1995 n/a 850 and I just replaced the exhaust manifold. I got one side of the egr coupling into the manifold, but for whatever reason I can't attach the EGR pipe onto the other side of the coupling. The nut won't grab the threads. It looks as if the nut is too small for the coupling, but it is the original coupling and it came off just fine. Any advice would help.

Chase (clean) the threads and use some hi-temp anti-seize as a lubricant. Tighten carefully (if with anti-seize)

If you are replacing the coupling with an OEM, it would't hurt to verify the thread size with a gage or caliper first.
Post a picture, if you can.
Thanks

Example of Precision: Measure with a Micrometer, mark it with Chalk, and then cut it with an Axe.
Disclaimer: We (very) seldom do that
