Blower motor current draw

I'm having problems with my '98 V70 blower motor not working or working intermittently. I've pulled the blower and have tested it by hooking it directly to the battery with an ammeter in-line but I have not found any info as to what the current draw should be -- it was drawing 11 amps, which to me seems excessive but I wanted to check here if anyone has what the specs are. I've searched but only found posts referring to 'excessive current draw' but with no quantities discussed. It's an ECC system. Thanks.

11 A would be fine. I have checked 850 and S/V/C70 blowers and find 11-15 A as normal range. Binding dry bushings usually push it to 17A or more.
