I'll be working on my haldex/AOC unit here in a few weeks. While reviewing the Vida information I'm not figuring out how I determine torque specs while looking at the parts or procedures section. As a matter of fact I don't even see a procedure for removing the haldex/AOC only the entire rear diff assembly.

I'm interested in the 4 bolts that hold the haldex body onto the differential assembly as well as the torque spec for the nut that holds the axle flange onto the haldex/AOC (see #8 in attached folder).

Use a impact gun on the large nut and just get the other bolts tight like any normal bolt...

Probably around 15-16lb for the body bolts but idono because I can't remember the size but why do you want the torque specs so bad for those basic bolts?

I'd hardly call them "basic" (#10 & #13) in diagram since there is a seal between the haldex and the differential and I'm already fighting a leak in that area on the top where we cannot see. Seems to me proper specs on these as well as the flange nut would be paramount to not damaging seals while not allowing for a leak.

Do you know where to find such specs in Vida when they are not listed in a procedure or there is no procedure?

Specs are in vida

150Nm for the Pinion nut #8

M8 bolts are 24 Nm

Use a dab of blue loctite on all of them. Put one drop of loctite a few threads in to the diff instead of on the bolt. This keeps the loctite from getting squished in between the AOD and the diff and offsetting the attachment angle. The same way you would install a flywheel.

They are basic...

We are not talking about a head gasket here, just a regular sealed area. You can do all the running around you want to get the specs but it's nothing special when getting these tight.

Again, impact on the main nut and regular tightness on the other bolts. just like your putting anything else back together, don't man handle it or you will strip them out.
