Simple question does anyone know the calculations I need to work out what an appropriate upgrade intercooler size would be in a modified 850 T5. My 850 T5 is now running blue injectors along with a new TD04-18T turbo which is generating quite a lot of heat soak.
Standard Intercooler dimensions are 23" x 22" x 2 3/4".

No, a BOV will not help with heat. It replaces, and does the exact same job as your CBV, which is every bit as good.
OP: A new intercooler will help tremendously. There are a bunch of threads on VS (VolvoSpeed) and other forums.
The general knowledge is that one of the ebay kits, with a few extra pieces of tubing, will work great. I have heard good things about the CX Racing IC kit. Sounds like you have to order an extra 90 degree pipe though.
Off-topic(ish): I was worried about the heat around the turbo itself, and cut about a foot off my hood seal to allow heat to escape. It helps, and one of the guys on VS said he found 10 degree colder IAT. I only have a 16t, but they are pretty similar

JbsRedR, have any pics you can post? I love to see custom work. I'm sure there's a few others here who would enjoy them too.
Help keep MVS on the web -> click sponsors' links here on MVS when you buy from them.
Also -> Amazon link. Click that when you go to buy something on Amazon and MVS gets a cut!

I found a larger intercooler 830mm x 330mm x 100mm with 76mm outlets need to plan how to fit it, as we have a drought [joke of the century it's rained every day since April 1] I'm having issues getting enough dry days to do the work. I cannot work out how to upload pictures so can't post the pictures of the intercooler
