Thanks - $300 plus for a trans cooler is high.

You may want to look at a Derale cooler if you really need one for towing etc.

IPDs product has very little surface area for the money. They don't even state a BTU rating which suggests it is very low.

I went with a B & M cooler model 70264 for my 960. http://bmracing.com/?wpsc_product_categ ... ne-coolers

Rated at 14,400 BTU and I have towed lots of heavy stuff as well as a XC70 on a car trailer.

I agree the IPD unit LOOKS great but I think the cooling capacity is nowhere near other aftermarket units that mount in front of the radiator.

There's no need to drop a ton of money or get custom fittings/hoses for an auxiliary trans. cooler. I've got one on my N/A 850, but not for performance. It was a quick fix after ripping one of the cooler lines out of the radiator, and I just kept it after getting a new radiator.

I have this Flex-a-lite cooler from Summit Racing. It's only $36 and works great, it's probably way bigger than anything these cars would ever need.

I just cut the factory rubber cooler lines and used the provided hose, hose barbs, and clamps in the kit. I used the plastic mount zip tie things and mounted it on the A/C condenser, in front, flush with the bottom, hose barbs pointing toward the transmission.

Nothing to it.
