Car was purchased a little over a year ago. Seems to me that the previous owner was very concerned about the appearances of a well maintained vehicle, but that in reality there was a fair bit of work needing to be done, and there still is! Purchased with 236k km, and now has 248k.
Feb 2011: -Tune up including spark plugs, cap and rotor
-PCV system replacement.
April 2011: -Timing belt, water pump and tensioner.
-Starter
Aug 2011: -Headlight lenses
-Tailgate rattle repair and struts
Jan 2012: -Cleaning of valves, fuel injectors
Feb 2012 -MSD coil and IPD spark plug wires.

Drove to Alberta and found all the problems that cold weather reveals.

-Repaired vacuum leak at PTC nipple
-Changed Spark plugs to NGK Iridium 6418 - previous Bosch Platinums showed signs of being "too hot", whitish insulator.

-Broke lower shock stud attempting installation of IPD rear overload springs. Stud re-tapped. Will need to replace trailing arm at some point.
-Replaced wiper linkage/motor from pick-a-part.
