What tire size should I be looking for on my 1979 244DL?

I would like something that is fairly common but will handle well on the stock rims. Right now they are 185-80-14 but they are hard to find in my area.

The 244 came out of the factory with 175-SR14 tyres. Changing back to this size would increase the tyre diameter by 0.15%. I would suggest you go back to them.
