New to the board and I looking for some advise on a local 240 for sale. Please give me your honest opinions:
1991 Volvo 240 Sedan
5 speed
260,000
No rust
Ball joints just replaced
Extremely clean
Speedo works
Heater works
Power windows/locks work
Is $1250 too much to pay? I know these last forever by 260k on the clock scares me.
Thanks.

At that age money is really not the issue rather will it last and that you may have to get a local mechanic to take a look. Can't go wrong with a clean, safe driving car for $1,250. My last two cars which also were the first two I've owned to have air bags so I am partial to cars with air bags now. 1995 Grand Voyager and 1995 E420.
BTW I purchased my first Volvo Jan 2012 for $500 with 231,000. She did passed smog with some TLC but she is going to take about $800 ~ $1,200 in parts to get her towards Stage 0. Bought her at night and she was puking oil out of the dipstick and blowing large, large amounts of smoke so yours looks vary good but you'll need to check her out thoroughly and set some money aside just in case.
Blessings,
BKM

Please read my response including attachment as Lubrication (engine and trans) is key for that age if everything else is holding up

260000 just means somebody loved driving that car. Get it checked out by a mechanic but dont let the mileage scare you.
1994 Volvo 940: 189,000 miles.
2008 Mustang GT convertible: 10000 miles. The garage queen.
