Wagon tail light replacement question

I have searched the database and after 14 pages did not find the answer. I picked up some v70 tail lights to replace my 94 wagon severly faded tails. The lower half have the small piece with the body color section still attached. How do I swap the body colored piece out. Not wanting to break the lower part I thought the collective would have an easy answer. Also anyone have any experience with stealth bulbs for the turn signal where it is now clear not amber?

Got a follow up while waiting on answer. Need help in removing the speaker to gain access to the upper light nuts. from the Haynes it just says "withdraw the speaker for access". Did not see any release tabs or screws. thanks in advance.

Got it sorted out folks. New tails make a huge difference. I really like the clear look instead amber. Now on to the front corners.

For anybody tracking this thread. You have to get the bulb holders for the top lights. The old ones will not fit. Unless there is some mod where you cut the slots the holder fits into. I think it has to do with the need for an amber bulb due to the clears on the newer lense. Anyway all is in and looking good.

You are correct. The amber bulb will not fit where a clear bulb is required. The best option when converting to V70 tail lights is to get the bulb sockets with the lenses. I bought mine on ebay and they came with the sockets in them. The new sockets plug right into the existing harness.

The only issue with using amber bulbs is that as the bulb is used and ages, the amber color starts to flake off. When that happens with mine I may decide to put LED bulbs in as a replacement.

Boy that is correct about the flaking. My set came with all the bulbs. I noticed the amber ones were flaking as I put them in. Did not realize how much until the wife said to me "what did you get into" my whole shirt was covered. Just got new ones from my FLAPS and for 4.50 a pair I think the stealth bulbs I had considered will have to wait as they list for 29.95 a pair

I have been searching for modern lighting for 98 v70 turbo wagon.I'm looking for taillights but should'nt they all match style?
Any link's out there? Clear and smoke grey look good. What about fog lights? There are "2 sockets" hanging where a fog light could go. I read somewhere fog lights reduce air damming in front? Ideas?
The best volvo people are here so I can't wait to see what's out there!!
