Hi,
I,ve ordered already a second hand front seat belt (Car Volvo Estate V70 Model 2000+) Does anyone has tips and trics how to replace the complete module. There are also 2 wires... .connected to the unit. So which fuse is "responsible" for the seat belt unit...because safety first !! Or do I have to disconnect the accu completely...so maybe someone has some more details....or maybe a step by step repair guide...
Regards,
Arjan
How to replace front seat belt
Disconnect the battery (- cable) before you touch anything with the SRS system. Slide the seat all the way forward, raise up from the rear the panel that holds the power seat buttons on the seat to access the belt where it connects. Remove the front and rear door sill trim and then remove the b-post trim. The b-post trim is kind of tight but it will come off, removing the sill trim makes the b post trim easier to remove. When the b-post trim is removed you will see the seat belt assembly, remove the electrical connector to the belt assembly and then the two bolts that hold it on. Installation is in reverse order and is not difficult, getting the b post trim on and off is probably the most difficult thing. Where your belt connects at the seat may bolt on or may clip on you can look at your new one and see which it is.
Thanks a lot for this information. My son was able to replace the seat belt unit ! The old one was replaced because the belt itself was damaged.
However...the "new" (second hand one) one seems not to wrap up the belt anymore...., and the old one does now have the same issue...so please tell me how to solve this problem....because it seems to us strange that the old & new one does have right now the same problem which was not " seen" before ...so maybe aditional tips can help us ...
Remark: I assume the the wire within the belt unit is only for the spring load mechanism, and has nothing todo with the wrapping up the belt...so the unit should also work without wires attached (i mean wrapping up the belt itself)...so please help...

The wiring connection has nothing to do with the the belt retracting, it has to do with the tensioner or the belt locking up during an accident. Some of the belts due to age won't retract anymore and a couple of years ago I had a new "used" one unspool on me and I had no luck getting it back right. This is not to say there is not a fix for this but I am not aware of it myself. Good luck
I assume there must be a tric....i,ve tried the old one, shake, pull out the belt i little bit hard so it locks, then wind up the belt again...and suddenly it works again...so can someone tell me how the internal meganism works, how the belt is locked, and how can I wind up it again...because now seems trial and error....

Can Someone tell me if it is normal for the seat belt to NOT unwind from the reel?
I bought a used seat belt assembly (drivers side) on eBay, just received it and did not try to install it yet. I am unable to unwind the belt, so before I do the work, I wanted to know if that is normal while the part is not installed.
Also, can you shed some light on why the charge says not to put on another car?? If I change the assembly, do I need to use the charge that is already on my car?
Thanks!
