So I have a 68 122 with a 75 b20f motor
friday the car died on me and noticed the solder from the coil resistor broke off.. after attaching it, the refuses to idle but will start. It sputters but seems to run ok around 3k rpms but it puts out some white smoke.
Any ideas? Timing? Aav (cleaned it out thiinking it was this), headgasket(doubt it)... hmmm
weird issue. 122 w/ b20f

I assume this is a 1975 motor using the 68 carburetor setup.
Does that intake have water heating? (coolant hoses going to/from the intake manifold close to carb bases?)
The coil resistor is likely unrelated to the rough running and stalling with white smoke.
It is possible in cool and humid Seattle that the white smoke may be condensation and not coolant.

Itsrunning the kjet setup.
I was thinking about running it(giving gas) for a few mins to let it get up to temp, but also worried something could be wrong with it. I sold my v70r for this car :p best thing I've ever done!

No more leaking evaporators, lazy door lock motors, leaking heater cores, knocking CV joints, rumbling angle gears, or failing radiators to keep you from being bored?
You need to make sure you didn't pick up water from an old fuel tank. Did it run fine before this episode?
Of course ignition issues will make for no fuel pump relay function since it is a tach signal (neg terminal of coil) triggered relay.
If you turn on ignition does pump cycle?
Does pump run while cranking?

Also, did it back fire when it cut out?
Hole in air hose between fuel dist air housing and the throttle could be an issue or slipped metering disc in tapered air housing that is binding.
A 1975 system should be tach signal FP relay by my memory working on those 25+ yrs ago but it could be a switch in the metering housing tripped by disc lifting.

No holes that I can see and the pump is working correctly.
Anyone know the proper timing for this motor (advance is better correct)
