I join the crowd on "Nice job!" Do you know when the TB, rollers, water pump, etc., were last changed?

As far as I can tell all of those items are original. Why would I replace the throttle body? Mine is not ETM. I did clean it when I did the PCV system replacement.

I have the 140,000 major service interval coming up in 8,000 miles, where I plan to replace the timing belt and will probably do the waterpump at that time, as well as a complete cooling system flush. According to the maintenance records I have, the timing belt was replaced at 65,000 miles and since the previous owner could not get the car to pass smog, they recently replaced the spark plugs (not sure what kind yet), new OEM Volvo plug wires, cap, rotor and parts of the evaporative emissions system. A year ago they paid $1,200 to have the climate control replaced...wow was that expensive. The car even has brand new tires on it.

The windows need a light tint. I like the factory tint on my 4Runner...something about dark windows and a light car looks good to me.

I did some more work on the car this weekend. The paint was absolutely shot on the rear spoiler and the fiberglass was splintering as if the previous owner had used it as a cutting board. There was a sizable dent in the trunk lid below the license plate as well.

I came across a pristine white trunk lid and spoiler combination for $150, so I bought it. The cost to repair both items on my car would have far exceeded this price.

Junk in my trunk; and that junk was a trunk:

Saw a nice 850 while I was picking up my parts:

The trunk lid was straight forward to replace, it just took a bit of time to get it aligned correctly. Here I cut double-sided tape to fit the mounting points on the new spoiler:
Image
The spoiler mounts with just the double sided tape and a bracket on each side of the spoiler that clamps to the trunk lid.

The trunk lid and spoiler came from two separate cars and this particular trunk lid had no spoiler, so I had to carefully measure my old trunk for proper spoiler placement. I marked the trunk for proper placement, then attached it.

And here's the result, a pristine trunk lid and spoiler combination.

She's coming along, slowly but surely.

The 940 wagon? That's my gf's, it's a 1993 940 turbo. 220,000 miles, in really good shape inside and out. It just got new tires, two weekends ago I installed new OEM Volvo front brake rotors and some BrakeBest brand ceramic pads, which helped the braking performance immensely, stopped dusting the wheels and eliminated the squealing brakes. The radio suppression relay was recently replaced (new OEM one) the third time as it would occasionally die when hot. That problem immediately went away.

A new problem has cropped up recently--rough idle, occasional stalling and once it simply wouldn't start. I checked all of the hoses and clamps, cleaned the throttle body, MAF and idle air controller, problem persists. Fuel pump tested okay and the problem occurs regardless of fuel level (i.e. not the secondary pump.) It runs nice at anything but idle and it pulls smooth to redline with the boost measuring 3/4 the way up the stock gauge. It has been a really good car but for the first time it has some unsorted issues. I'm thinking about buying a junkyard MAF to see if it makes any difference.

Not sure what the diagnosis is, but I think the engine is toast. 133,000 miles.

Great thread! I have owned a 94 850 Turbo for a little under a year and have been wondering where to start on maintenance. Previous owner stopped driving it in 08. He had the oil changed in 08, put about a 1000 miles on it and parked it. Only drove it sproradically after that. It runs good but does have a couple drips underneath. Not sure where they are coming from.
