Is this sticker for the timing belt? I assume that it is

Is there a spot for the date and miles at the bottom (right side in your picture which is sideways)
If so, yes, that's a T belt sticker
I can look tomorrow at mine, I never really looked at it closely

Yes that is an OEM timing belt sticker.

Thanks for the update. the car has 120,000 Kms, but the timing belt shows done in 2002 at 80,000 kms by the orignal owner who seemed to have done a fair amount of preventive upkeep very early according to the service stamps in the service book. The second and previous owner to me did not drive it very much, little old lady (really) I can assume the tbelt should be ok for a while even after being 10 years since last changed. My owners manual says change every 120Kms.

Despite being 10 yrs old and 40,000 kms since it was done I am not in such a hurry to change it again. Please let me know if you think this is pretty good logic

Perhaps it would be a very good idea just to open the cover and visually inspect the belt itself. If all the other parts do not fail or make noise the belt will be the weak point and the only point that matters!

10 years is the recommended life of a timing belt. Plan on replacing the belt as a minimum. Seals and idler pulleys as well as the tensioner should be on hand when replacing the belt but you really won't know what you need until you pull things apart.

Look for oil or coolant in the bottom left corner of the timing cover. This will indicate a leaking tensioner or leaking water pump.

With interference motors you don't want to be taking chances with cam belts. Heads are expensive to repair/replace if you break a timing belt and too many stories here on Matthews indicate prevention is soooo much better than cure.

It's a good way to get familiar with your car if you haven't done a lot of work on it. My 12 year old (original) t-belt had light cracking on the outside (smooth) part of the belt when I replaced it. I'd replace it.

The tensioners fail as often or more than a cracked belt

It's set in the display for the forum pages that they can only be 700 pixels wide or something.

It's best if you go to the bottom of the page and "upload attachment" to add pictures. That way, they don't go away when imgshack or photobucket delete accounts for future reference of others on the forum.

Btw, that belt needs to be changed!!! It's well past its 7 year lifespan and you're running on borrowed time.
