85 -850 turbo-sputters badly
Old Red has begun to sputter...as if she is not hitting on one or more cylinders...how to check it out..and what are possible causes? As always...thank you

I would begin by checking to see if the computer has set any diagnostic codes. There is a great summary of how to do that for the various model years here:

Let us know what you find out.
If there are no codes (or they aren't relevant to the sputtering), then I'd check the spark plugs, wires, and also check for vacuum leaks.
