When I bought my 240 I can turn the radio on and all that happens is the letter E across the screen. Is this radio garbage or is it some kind of code? It looks too weird to try to replace so I'd rather just either use it or get a another working radio.....I'm tired of using a boom box in the back seat.
Any ideas?

Lots of them!Any ideas?
This indicates that the radio code has not been entered correctly.
If "EEE" is displayed for 1 second and then "codE". Enter the correct code.
If "EEE" is there all the time that indicates that three unsuccessful coding attempts have been made. The set locks for 2 hours. To unlock the set it must be connected and turned on for two hours. It should then show "codE". Enter the code again once the time has elapsed. However, I have known it take longer than two hours.
Have you got the code? Someone may have written it in the owner's manual or written it on top of the radio. If you don't have the code your Volvo dealer will supply this, free of charge, if you provide the radio serial number.

EEE is there all the time. I thought perhaps the radio was junk....Hmmmm I don't see any codes anywhere so I guess I'll call a Volvo dealer.....They still provide this service to old Volvos? I'll give it a shot I guess.
Thanks...
