How do I remove my outside tail light covers?

Post by Dantheman1546 »

I have a 1999 Volvo v70xc. I've always wanted to black out my tail light covers, but I'm afraid I won't do it properly and break them. I've seen people with Volvos with blacked out tail lights on youtube but I can't figure out how to get the darn things off!

My 850 sedan had 8mm deep socket nuts holding the tail light covers onto the body. I'd start by getting access to where you change the bulbs, pop out the actual lighting unit, and look for the long skinny studs.
