service light after start up

service light after start up

hi i have a 99v70R and when i start it up the service light comes on for about 2-5 min and then shuts off, i bought the car not long ago so not super familar with the newer year, once and awhile it will almost detonate i guess you would call it .. could it just need a tune up ? im kinda worried please help

Run high octane gas in it. Turbo cars (even my Cruze) hate regular gas.

Service light:
Press and hold odometer reset button
Turn ignition switch to Run
After SRL flashes, release odometer reset button
Confirm by turning your Volvo off, then on again

The Service Light is different then the Check Engine Light. It 'only' means that you need to go to the service department for regular maintenance. Most people ignore it or yank the bulb so we never see it again!

It's just the 5,000 mile reminder to take care of the oil change and do other needed maintance. Be thankful that you don't have the '98 car where you can't reset the light.

i run 93 in it ALWAYS never not .. and thanks guys ! i was worried .. but im gonna do a tune up anyway not sure when it had it last
