Replace headlight lens on 2001 V70

Post by dwills »

Anyone know how to get the glass lens off the headlight and replace it? I've looked at all the posts on the site and see a method for a 2000 which was different and an S40 which is also different. The S40 involves removing part of the bumber and the 2001 V70 looks as though you have to do the same. Smooth move Volvo!

Thanks. Looks like the right tool for the job is a Mastercard. The post on Swedespeed convinced me.

Oh man. What a PITA! I'm glad I have an S70. Lens replacement is pretty much as easy as popping the hood and removing the headlight.

Good luck!

Jordan.

Got a lens from Erie Volvo $100 - $350 cheaper than a new headlight assembly from the dealer who does not carry lenses only. Took it to a body shop. Two hours labour and it's all repaired and yes the front bumper had to come off.
