Lower engine mount.

Post by SHAKAMAMBUTU89 »

How many parts does the front lower mount have? I was looking at vlvworld and it shows that there is 2 parts. I am pretty confused now. Below is the link of vlvworld.

Theres a rubber mount and the metal part that connects it to the sub-frame assembly, but they should ship together.
To do list:
Subframe/Control arms-Done
PCV replacement-Done
Alternator-Done
Stupid stalling issue-Next
ABS module-Next
Stupid hood latch
Small cosmetic fixes

This is the part for an 850. S/V 70 may vary in appearence slightly.

The replacement part comes as one piece. It is in fact two metal pieces molded together by the rubber absorber. The piece on the engine block itself should not have to be replaced, and as far as I've seen does not even come up when searching for the lower right engine mount replacement part.

Edit: I see they show the block side piece in the vlvworld link, but notice they did not include a price for it. I think it was for visual reference so I now understand the confusion.
Good luck.

Ben850's description may not be accurate for your mount. Some mounts, like mine, also have a metal spacer that fits between the mount and the frame. It is about 1/4 inch thick and ships with the mount - you don't need to order it separately. But there is no reason you couldn't re-use the old one if by some chance you don't get one - it is just a metal spacer.
2011 XC70 T6 - current
2017 Alfa Romeo Giulia Q2 - Totaled in 2022. Not my fault.
2011 XC60 - sold
2000 V70XC - given to a friend, wish I still had it.

I was only refering to the picture in the vlvworld linked page and my 850 experience. I know they have alterd the subframe from 850 to V/S70 series so I could imagine additions or alterations. Either way I would hope they would include whatever you may require.

Well as Ben850 said, he was just explaining the confusion that I had because the vlv site was showing the mount as 2 pieces and not just one piece. But anyways thanks everyone :)

Actually, your mount should look like this. This is a mount on our S70. Some 850's share this mount as well.

Just wondering, is that bolt supposed to be digging into the plastic like that? I saw another post saying that this is a bad mount due to the fact that the bolt is digging into the plastic.

Thanks!
