1999 Volvo c70 radiator replacement.

I have a 1999 Volvo c70 with the 2.4 turbo at 113,000 miles on it. I need to replace the radiator because the plastic to the overflow reservoir broke off. I recently got one from a junkyard from a 1999 Volvo xc70, it didn't work. The transmission lines were on the opposite side than my car. My question is the guy has one from a s70 without turbo , would this work in my car? The car is a 1999 s70. Thanks guys in advance.

I believe so. Being a 1999, your car should have the oil cooler on the back of the oil pan and a transmission cooler in the radiator.

Not sure why the XC's wouldn't work. Transmissions are always on the left side.

Thank you jkblackburn . The interchange said the xc would work but when I got it the transmission lines where on the right hand side . It left me scratching my head .It is hard to find salvage yards in Tennessee with 1999 and up Volvos, so I have to get parts online and shipping will eat you up. I was wanting to make sure before this guy shipped me another one .

1998 turbo models of C70, V70, XC70, and S70's had both an oil cooler and transmission cooler built into the radiator.

I've never been under the hood of a 1999 XC70, but can tell you that the 1999 and 2000 T5 and GLT models have a separate oil cooler attached to the back of the oil pan, thus eliminating it in the radiators for those years.

ALL automatic models retain the transmission cooler in the radiator, so it stands to reason they would fit.

I would run a quick part number check between the two radiators on an online parts vendor site just to make sure. Or call one of them up and ask.

Thank you jkblackburn the numbers did interchange and the radiator is on the way . I am glad but the radiator looks like a pain . I searched the forum and found the post on how to replace. The biggest thing looks like taking off the fan and all the wires on it . Again thank you .

Removing the fan is easy.

It's not a terrible job, but it DEFINITELY helps to have a helper hold it up - the condenser, intercooler, and radiator together are HEAVY!!! as you're trying to screw it back in.

I used bungee cords wrapped around the bumper to help support it (and my brother).

Okay an update the second radiator came after shipped usps, it was broke . The post office sent it from North Carolina all the way to Salt Lake Utah . I finally got it today broken . I have to send it back and he is supposed to ship another ups . I have a question about the antifreeze, I have read on here to use the zerez g-o5 so I bought some . The zerez is an orange color but the stuff in my car is green . Do I need to get all the green coolant out before putting the zerez in ? If so how do you get all the green antifreeze out . I searched and found there is a block drain and to unhook the bottom radiator hose to get most of the fluid out . If all the green stuff doesn't get out will it hurt the engine ? Thanks in advance guys.

Are you sure you got zerex go5? The zerex I got had a faint yellow color to it not orange at all. I think there will be some green fluid in the heater core too. you can do several drain fills with distilled water. I did that but also detached the heater core and caught the old fluid with a garbage bag.
