HELP PLEASE! Remove 06 XC90 Parking Pedal

Post by luckyfanfan »

Please Help!!!!!!!!!!!!

I tried to remove the Parking Pedal on my 2006 XC90, However, the fuse box is getting on my way, i can not take out the parking pedal on driver side.

The DIY instruction was "Insert a screwdriver between the bracket and the relay box. Turn the screwdriver so that the bracket opens out. At the same time, pull the relay box out of the bracket towards the underside of the dashboard. Lift the relay box off the bracket. Pull the relay box downward under the dashboard."

I can NOT pull the relay box out.... :o

Anyone has any idea? Please help!!!

The CEM is that fuse box. The CEM has two "knobs" on the top outside corners. On the left side in line with that single gold/yellow fuse on left, is the latch tab you pry to the left. Once that is pried away the bottom edge is pulled towards back of car and when the CEM is at an angle the knobs slip out of the bracket and it will pull down out of the way.

thank you Jimmy, so once i pry out the latch tab, i should pull the CEM towards the seat, so it is in an angle that i can slip out it?

The angle must be right for it to slide out of bracket. Tip the bottom edge more to the rear and keep trying.
The plastic under the round part of the "knob" is flat. The bracket has a triangle shape opening with a slot cut into the bottom of the triangle. When the CEM is at the right angle the flat plastic section will exit downward out of the slot.
