O2 sensor replacement with Bosch 15717

Post by J391 »

I was reading this in the repair database on this site:
"Rod
11/15/01

I found a generic 4 wire sensor from Bosch at Auto Zone. Bosch #15717. Spliced it in, reset the check engine light and it fixed the problem."

Well I did just that. Now that I have it Im not sure which wires to splice
to which. Rod are you still around? Its been five years so that might be asking too much, anyone else?

I have a black, gray and 2 white wires on the new sensor (dang I hope those white ones do the same thing)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

All I know is that the two white wires are for the O2's internal heating element. One is 12V positive - the other is ground. Since it is a simple heating element, it doesn't matter which one is POS and which one is NEG.

Thanks for the responses. I compared to pics from bay13
and a online bosch pdf and am now feeling more comfortable
with the order.
