Is the Vishay sensor easy to source or do they put you through the griller to buy one?
Also may I ask approximately what the cost of the sensor was?

Looks like you can buy single for about $35 US. Shipping from this site to Australia is like $20+precopster wrote:Is the Vishay sensor easy to source or do they put you through the griller to buy one?

Job requires cutting open the Vishay and lots of custom precision assembly to set proper alignments + spaces + voltages. I'd say not for DIYer who prefer plug and play. Sacer TPS seems to be exclusive to Xemodex in US so not available to US consumers.

Hi Yehuda,
I'm reading with interest you topic from the time you started it. Nice job, man!
So my question is: a year later how is the sacer's sensor behave? Any problems at all? Idle, cruise, DTC codes ...
I'm planning to go over your steps, but sacer's worker told me the minimum order s for 5pcs - however, i'll find 4 friends here in BG to combine the order. I just need to be sure that the TPS is reliable.
Thanks for your response.

Hello yuckuJackD,
the sacer's sensor works great as it should, i haven't faced any problems related to it, it's very reliable from my experience.
BTW, if you can't find more friends to combine the order & you need it fast, i'm selling them on eBay.
here are links to the listings:

I'm in process of waiting stock amounts in Sacer's shop, and buying 5 units. 2 for me and 3 for a friend.
I'll tell the results after that
Many thanks to Yehuda, for sharing his experience with us!!!

Good luck. Be sure to cut down the shaft sufficiently. Also use an earthed soldering iron as the boards are very susceptible to static damage. When hacking out the putty use a pick tool for speed.
Use the casing to lever the three sensor prongs apart as heat has almost no effect. With the disconnected 5 prong side you can drill it apart with a 2mm drill bit and then dremmel the rest. Avoid using heat unless you're soldering and if so make it very short bursts and allow to cool between solderings.
If your solder has no flux get some resin based flux in a tub (made by Kester) and use this to help the joint flow.
If you end up with codes allow 3 cycles for them to clear.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for guidance, but I read it too late I guess...
I've done everithing as it should except two things (both are possibilities of overheating):
1. While splitting the pins first i tried to desolder them. At begining at 250 deg, then 300 and at the end I hit tha max - 450deg. When I realised that heating doesn't help at all I cut 1-2 mm from top and they were all free, but before that I've been applying alot of heat trying to desolder them. - Could this heat process caused any damage to the electronics inside the body?
2. I soldier the new sensor without being careful of overheating. 300deg for 5-10 sec for a pin and no time for cooling between pins. Again - Could this heat process caused any damage to the new sensor?
What I'm tring to find out is what whent wrong - the body itself or the sensor.
Symptoms:
limp home (mine is wrote in French, so I'm not sure the exact message in English)
When I connect the car with DiCE and VIDA I got general Throtle error + errors for both 1-st and 2-nd sensors.
Live data shows i got no measurment at all. Both are dead on 26-28%.
Tonight when i get home i'll post pics from the whole process so that it be clear what and how I did (nothing different than others in fact but ... who knows).
Thanks for ANY support.

At this moment I thought i need to desolder the pins. Applied alot of heat but with no sucsess. Then I just cut 1-2mm from top and the pins were free from each other.

Is this shorten enough?

I'm afraid that at this point maybe i've overheated a bit the pins.

Latter I could post some screenshots from VIDA with the car connected.
Thanks for ANY support.
