Location of Cabin Air filter in 2010 S80

Everything on the Volvo S80. Sometimes called an "executive car", the S80 was Volvo's top-of-the-line passenger car. P2 platform.

Location of Cabin Air filter in 2010 S80

Post by Bagavel »

Looks like Volvo has changed the position of the cabin filter on the 2010 S80.
Need advice on location and how to replace it.

I think it is under the glovebox but there is no cover like in the 2009. To the left on the centre consol there is a cover that could be the cabin filter but I am just guessing and want to know for sure before I start removing parts.

If that is the location this particular piece has no torx screws so I need to know how to release the cover.

The cabin air filter is near the firewire inside the car. if you remove the lower panel (which is held in place with two T25 torx screws) and snap off the center console side panel (also pull back the carpet too), you will find the cover for the cabin air filter on the passenger side at the VERY front of all the HVAC stuff. There are three tabs for you to push off and the filter should be there. The filter is very flexible, because of the space clearance, you will have to bend and manipulate the old filter out and do the same for the new filter (i've seen the same kind of setup in a BMW E36).

Scratch what I said, I didn't read that this was a 2010 model.
