Vida Dice?

First of all I wanna thank you all for a great forum. So much info available and so many great contributions. I see online there are multiple people selling the Volvo "Dice" programs/equipment. Is the "Dice" simply the connector/cable? I already have the 2005 version of VADIS on my computer. I, however, find myself wishing I could check all the Volvo-only codes in my cars along with other various operations. How does this Dice tool work and is it used in conjunction with VADIS or ViDA or is it a stand-alone thing? Excuse my ignorance here; I hope I'm using the correct terminology.

DiCE is nothing more than the interface between VIDA and the car. Without it, VIDA cannot talk to the car. In turn, DiCE is useless without the information and programming contained in VIDA.

If you have VADIS and are working on cars no later than 2005 then you need a VCT2000. I think you'll find those on Ebay from time to time.

Yes, true. I only mentioned VCT2000 as I had seen them go for $50 range on Ebay but I looked and none are for sale.
Looks like spending the money on knock-off DiCE and then assuring you have the processor, OS, and RAM for VIDA is the only choice
