302mm Brake Upgrade

Post by Nevada1906 »

Can anyone answer this question definitively?

Will this 302mm brake kit,

http://www.fcpgroton.com/product-exec/p ... +Brake+Kit

fit my vehicle (the attached picture)?

I've been getting all kinds of contradictory information. FCP Groton says yes. IPD says no. Some commenters here say 302s fit 16" Columbias, others say use Perfos or go to Titans.

Help!

Thanks

I have no idea about the rotors but the wheel is a ColumBA. I have been looking at the same upgrade but have Perfo so there seems to be less ambiguity there. Good luck and please report back to let us know what you do. Hopefully someone with Columbas who has tried this can chime in.

I would also tend to lean toward believing IPD. That FCP big brake kit was on the 850 I bought a couple months ago. Despite FCP's site saying that the kit works with 16" wheels, the 16" Persus wheels that I wanted to put back on the car did NOT fit with the big brakes on. Had to swap out to stock brakes so I could put my wheels on.

Good luck.

All right, thanks.

Guess I'll go with the 280mm setup.

They will not fit Columba wheels.

Only the Perfos on 98+ cars or 17" rims on R's will clear them.

the last statement is not 100% accurate.

Columbas and Persus rims will not clear, but pretty much every other 16" rim from the 850/70 series will.

Columbas will fit if you are willing to grind the calipers:

db130,

MUCH OBLIGED!

So I guess the Columba "doesn't fit" in the academic sense.

Eh, I've got grinding stones and an 18v DeWalt.

Thank you again.
