Known problems with 2005 XC90?

Known problems with 2005 XC90?
Looking to purchase 2005 xc 90 - just under 60k miles. This will be our 3rd Volvo - the other 2 still around, although one (2004 xc wagon) does need an engine. Are there any known issues other than the rear wheel bearings and the tranny issue on the T6? (this is not a T6) Just don't want to get stuck since it is out of warranty - and we had a boatload of problems with the XCwagon - don't want a repeat of that. thanks!
I still haven't really heard of any to speak of, I have an 05 5cyl and it's been great. There will always be something that could come up, but people have been asking about known issues for a while and nobody really comes up with any recurring problems. Obviously the t6 is another story.
As I am writing I am remembering there may be an alignment issue, On the AWD models, but don't remeber I'd that is the T6 or all AWD (mine is FWD). I have seen a few threads about these cars eating up tires... As early as 15-20k miles. But some of that may be the the OEM tire is a Michelin mxv4 which is SUPER soft. I have big o brand A/T tires and they've been great. Got about 23k on them and they still have a ton of tread. But you may want to search about tire wear and prevent the problem before you blow through $1000 worth of rubber

I got an 06 FW 7 seater. Purchased with 86K miles, now it has 110+ miles and so far the most expensive part I had to replace was the OEM battery. No problems so far and runs great. I need to reset the after blow to get the stink out when a/c is on but other than that she is running smooth.

As long as it is not a T6 you should be fine.
as you stated, they do like to eat wheel bearings, they will also eat tires. Brakes tend to be clockwork every 30k on the front and 60k on the rear. Aside from frozen tie rods, I never experienced a problem with the alignment. I can't come up with any major issues I ever had working on them.

An edit to my earlier post, besides all the bad grammar (must have been on the ipad) my tires are the Big O S/T not A/T. The A/T are the off-road tires and have a more aggressive tread. S/T are 100% road tires...

My 2005 V8 AWD (105k miles currently) has only had a few problems, wheel bearings multiple times (they apparently replaced them with a different type the last time according to the dealer - different part number), on the third set of tires (went through two sets of OEM michellins - about 47k out of each set and finally went with goodyears this time to get longer wear), and had to replace the alternator (the voltage regulator went bad and caused an over voltage condition when I was far from home, so this was very expensive replacement at the dealer since the alternator sits between the engine and the firewall). It is a little loose in the front end and the guy at my local garage wants to replace the lower control arms (more bearing-like issues). Biggest bull was the wheel bearings which volvo should recall.
