Hood release cable compatibility years

My daughter has a 2002 V70 XC AWD and the hood release cable on the driver's side broke at the handle. I found the part number and called the dealer but they don't keep anything in stock. I'd like to replace it while she is here -- she lives about 45 miles away -- tomorrow so I'm looking for immediiate availability. I thought I would try some of the salvage yards but to improve my chances of actually finding one I need to know what are all of the years I can look at.

Does anyone know the model years that would use the same hood release cable as my daughter's.

Same thing happened to me - I just crimped a new end on the old cable. I also added a backup cable though, as if it breaks in the hood you are very screwed. See www.matthewsvolvosite.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=46942
