Double Din For 2000 S40

Post by AU-S40 »

I posted something similar in the S40 forum before I noticed this one, but I am not sure how to move it or delete the other post. I was thinking about buying a USA SPEC adapter for my SC-816, but after seeing how much it costs I have decided that I will probably just upgrade the entire receiver. I really do not like the look of Single Dins or all of other hassles of a pocket, so I wanted to go with a Double Din. The problem is that everywhere I go says that the opening is too big and that there is no trim kit available. Is this true? Is there no way to make a Double Din unit fit in the opening?

Hey AU, did you ever try fitting a double DIN into your S40? I am looking at replacing the factory receiver for my S40 and am seeing that all the popular websites only recommend single DIN chassis. Any advice or wisdom would be much appreciated.

Unfortunately, I did not. I did take the radio out, but I ultimately just put everything back together.
