Happy S80 owner.
Re: Happy S80 owner.
I have not ordered the replacement lens yet, but should soon. I was sceptical of the quality of the low priced lens and wanted to see one before I jumped in to replacing both. I am very satisfied with it. Once you get the bumper cover off there is a small plastic surround on the light that must be removed. Simply depress the tabs and slide it out. The clips on the lens are fairly self-explanatory. They unclip from the lens and then the lens simply pulls off. Remove the surround gasket and install the new one cutting it slightly long so that you get a good tight seal. Place the new lens on the new seal and install the new clips in the holders all around the lens. It is not a bad job at all. I can gladly answer any specifics if you run into something that you don't understand. Also, I do plan to order the other lens and I will do a write up separately when I do. I think it would be a benefit to have that posted on here.

When my son passes his driving test my in laws will sell us their 2002 s80 which only has 26,000 miles on it.
Thing is so clean you would swear its showroom new. There is no way my son is going to get that. He's going to drive our 03 xc70 which is low miles itself at close to 90k. but has put up with sweaty sports kids for years.

I've got an even better solution, trade your S80 for mine and then your son can drive an S80 with a few miles on it and you wouldn't have to worry about changing vehicles. Ha! I wouldn't even want much thrown in to make the trade. Maybe a nice extended warranty... Congratulations on the new S80 by the way, I am really enjoying mine.

New keys/keyfobs. I stopped by Weiss Volvo on my way through last week to see about getting another key cut and programmed. Unfortunately they managed to break their key machine and destroy the only blank that they had on hand. They ordered more blanks and asked if I could stop back by on my return trip. I agreed and they not only took really good care of me with a nice discount, I wound up with new keyfobs and keys for no more money than my last GM vehicle, and less than my Chrysler vehicle. They were very accomodating and friendly, and I would highly recommend their service department. They went out of their way to make sure every question was answered and that I was completely happy. I have rarely had such a good experience at any dealership. Thanks Weiss!
