collision measurements

Everything on the Volvo S80. Sometimes called an "executive car", the S80 was Volvo's top-of-the-line passenger car. P2 platform.

collision measurements

Post by UncleBoost »

Does anyone know where I can get collision / body measurements for a 1st gen (2000 s80) s80?? I need to know the distance between the front bumper frame rails . Bought an $80 with front end damage and need to pull the left rail straight and up. Thanks UB

Should be able to get cozy with a bodyshop that repairs Volvos or any other european car for that matter. If they have a frame machine, they have a book of factory frame measurements for all late model cars. I managed a body shop in a former life and do recall that the Chief E-Z-Liner came with all that material, and we would get regular updates, as part of the ownership program. can't hurt to ask. Just be careful when you start to pull. The machines came with gauges that the frame guy would hang from specific reference points on the frame. He would establish a datum and all dimensions were measured off that line.
