1991 940 Turbo Wagon - No Brake Lights

Post by gkjohnson »

Really puzzled, replaced the bulbs recently and then all three brake lights went out. I replaced the brake light switch sure that would solve the problem with no luck. Any ideas?

Thanks, Greg

Try the bulb fault sensor relay. It is a likely suspect.

2008 Mustang GT convertible: 10000 miles. The garage queen.

Thanks for the tip. It makes sense now because the light on my dash did NOT come on when my brake lights failed and has come on in the past when I've had a light out. I will hunt down that relay and report in!

Thanks!

Round thing stuck on relay board behind ashtray. Remove tray and the storage cubby with lighter socket and you can work in there then or push tab at left rear (edge closest to back of car) and the whole thing will come out a ways to the rear of car to get access.
IF your handy with soldering, the unit usually has a solder joint crack that puts it down.
