transmission cooler lines o-ring and clip

Everything on the Volvo S80. Sometimes called an "executive car", the S80 was Volvo's top-of-the-line passenger car. P2 platform.

transmission cooler lines o-ring and clip

I replaced the radiator and not the o-rings on the cooler lines. Of course they now leak. It seems that there should be a kit to replace the o rings on these lines. Does anyone know where to get the o-rings? Is this a common dealer item?

Yes- common dealer item. Clip and o rings are usually replaced together. Make sure radiator is sized correctly and that the o rings are the failure point.

Getting ready to take my cylinder head off for a valve job, and I notice there is transmission fluid leaking at my new radiator. The radiator was installed by my indie volvo mechanic. I'm sure he knows to use new o-rings and hose retainers, so why is it leaking? I'm still ordering some parts, so I'll probably try and fix it myself.

The clamp around the connector is intended to grip and pull it together tightly. If not familiar, one can install it backward. Order 1 for each, and make sure it is correctly installed when replacing.

I would replace seal to remove any "what if".

Uh, yeah... wrong car. I found this topic from a search, and didn't even realize it's for an S80. Total fail. Thanks anyway. :)

My 1999 C70 has the same trans lines as in the 1st picture. I am replacing the radiator. My new radiator has receptacles for the trans lines, that look quite different. They appear to have the same inlet size, yet have a taper inside at the bottom. They also have a big hex cast in, on the end that faces the vehicle.
My question is will my existing trans lines work properly with this receptacle that is on my new radiator ? Thanks for any input.

I just replaced my radiator and the new one sounds like the one you describe. It took a little forcing but I was able to insert the teams cooling lines. Make sure you push it all the way in and replace the o-rings and clips. My new radiator works great.
