2001 V70 T5 spring seat replacement

I just received a new spring seat in the mail today, i found some great step by step instructions on here and wondering if there are any alternatives to the strut nut removal tool or is it best to purchase one? Do local auto parts store carry them?

You could buy a socket that is close to the right size and use a die grinder to make your own. You may also get away with using a large adjustable wrench. The special tool is not necessary, but it would keep you from having to improvise.

just finished up replacing the seat spring, my local auto parts store didn't have a strut nut tool, after compressing the springs i just used a pair of channel locks and the nut came right off, put everything back together and what difference..so much better than that annoying knocking over every bump...now i'm ready for the race....thanks all
