What tool to use

Post by BoomerFT »

I have the kit for hardwiring our new radar detector to the fuse block but want to make sure I don't mess up the interior while routing the wire. We have a 2006 XC90... I want to come up from the left door fuse block and route along the side to the front channel between the windshield & dash (where the VIN number is). I use the suction mount to the windshield just above the dash, centered between driver and passenger.

I can push on the post pad a little and create a small gap between the post and dash. What can I use to "push" the wires down without leaving a mark? :?:

I'm sure many have done this and may even have a better idea for routing the wires.

Thanks!

I grabbed a set of trim tools from the local car shop which are plastic and don't scratch the plastic like metal does, they come in various widths and curves so you can lift the edge up and push the wires under.

For example: http://m.supercheapauto.com.au/Product/ ... ece/282096

I'd do a search through YouTube to see if anyone has done a dash pull apart for your car which could help.

Cheers,
