...Now that the water pump is off, I am moving to removing the T45 on the roller. With a 3/8 adapter, I would use a 15mm combination to fit the space. So I have solve the tight space problem. I Would pull it from 3 o,clock to turn it counterclockwise. Is there a better method, wrench position, or tooling?

I guess you can use Sears Craftsman tool, if broken get new ones for free.

Harbor Freight sells a "Serpentine Belt Tool" with 3/8" square but the handle is very very thin, so it fits in that space very well. Just make sure the Torx recess is clean (use a small screwdriver to clean the inside of the Torx hole to remove debris). If debris is there, it prevents the Torx bit from fully seated ---> stripping the bolt.
This is true every time you deal with Torx or Allen head: remove debris first!

I am using similar to your good bit example in 3/8" drive.. Would a breaker bar a better choice with this bit? What about allen style torx key?

The goal is to NOT strip the torque screw on the tensioner roller. If the bit is a good quality bit and doesn't have the rounded tips you will likely be ok. I have used the allen style tools with success on other things like the thermostat housing. Just put the tool in the head of the T45 and put a breaker bar on it. Either use a breaker bar directly on it or point the handle of it away from you and put a box end wrench on the shaft and put a breaker bar on that. Just don't strip the inside of the screw.

Craftsman hand tools are excellent. The local sears have started to clean out their tools section. I see fewer each time I go there. Very weak selection in Torx tools.

Absolutely golden cn90. T45 gained a millimeter, and with a study and increased pull it broke away from 3o'Clock position. The tensioner roller is off.

I will take off the back cover next, before cleaning water pump mating surface. I remember you or Robert pointed to a link on removing tb back cover.

Wasn't me on the back timing belt cover. I've enver taken it off. Why take it off? I'm sure you will have to remove the cam sprockets which will create a dangerous timing cam situation. You currently have the cam locking tool in place which would have to come off.

I will compare these with the new.
Removing tb cover could help with cleaning the water pump mating surface. It would reduce early failure.

I looked at the pump that was removed, the sloppiness is visible to blind. Why set for less if I could be done properly?
